As I type this, I am watching youtube videos of the old Toonami promos. As I sort of stated in my last post, I want to re-emphasize how AWESOME it was at times, and how much good anime so many people got to be exposed to because of the magical two hour prime time programming it offered. Of course, Toonami brought more than just anime, but these shows are why I thought it was so great:
Anime series I loved:
Dragonball/Z/GT, Gundam/G/Wing/08th MS Team/SD, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo!/Universe/in Tokyo, Blue Submarine no. 6, Outlaw Star, The Big O, Cyborg 009, Astro Boy (2003), Rave Master, Zatch Bell, Naruto, and Bobobo-bo bo-bobo.
American series I loved:
The real adventures of Johnny Quest, Reboot, Powerpuff Girls, Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Zoids: Chaotic Century, Transformers: Armada, Samurai Jack, Justice league, Star Wars: Clone Wars, IGPX, Duel Masters, Jackie Chan Adventures, and Teen Titans.
Other Great things about Toonami:
The month of Miyazaki, DBZ movies, Moltar and TOM as narrators, Commerical spots for shows, new and airing, Audio-mix intros, (the portion Toonami plays before showing the actual show, usually including bits and pieces of the show’s audio to a bassy beat) Video Game reviews, and the ship, the Absolution.
I am sure there are other good things to mention, but in short, I can respond to the question myself: Who misses Toonami? I sure do. Do YOU?
